With J-PAL North America and the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities at the University of Notre Dame, King County co-hosted a national convening on November 12, 2025, showcasing leading practices in how local governments use data and evidence to advance equitable community outcomes.

The event brought together national partners such as Results for America, The People Lab at Harvard Kennedy School, Urban Institute, and Project Evident alongside evidence leaders from local governments including The Lab @ DC and San Diego County’s Office of Evaluation, Performance, & Analytics. King County’s own evaluation units in Public Health, Community & Human Services, and Metro Transit were also prominently featured.

About 100 attendees joined from across the country, with an additional 100 King County employees participating. The convening opened with an “Evidence Fair”, followed by sessions exploring access to the safety net, strengthening the child care workforce, the impact of transit fare policy on mobility, and strategies for integrating evidence into budgeting.
