Last year, I took a year-long series of “Learn to Sew Your Clothes” classes from Sew Liberated. The classes were excellent and are all on demand. Though I’ve been sewing since I was a kid, my training was pretty patchwork (see what I did there?). I learned so much from these classes and am now making a lot of my own clothes. This is the Ember Dress from Sew Liberated, with fabric from my favorite Seattle fabric store – Stitches. Seemed like the perfect dress to be wearing at a Tuscan villa.

I took a drop spindle yarn spinning class earlier this year at Wool Friends in Ballard. This is my first spin!

I can’t believe I made a backpack! The pattern is from Sew Liberated, and they have a great online class walking you through its construction.

Maija Feibig makes the most beautiful very large pom poms. They are like little worlds. My mom organized an afternoon with her for my birthday to learn how to make them. Don’t you need a comfort pom pom too?
